Also there were stray dogs and cats everywhere. They aren't aggressive to people in fact when we went on a walk we eventually gathered an entourage of 3 dogs. All cute and just up for a walk with us.
I was so happy to get out of the Kamala area since it was so dead and we were so excited for the Half Moon Party. We had just missed the Full Moon Party but figured it would be just as good. We had even read that it was more organised. This part was probably my favourite in terms of relaxation. The weather was good and I really liked both of the hotels we stayed at.

For those of you who read for the Teaching in Korea aspect, please check out a new page that I just put up about Chungdahm. Unless there are requests for more, that will probably be my last post about Korea!
Incheon to KamalaAfter a layover in Kuala Lumpur, we were exhausted since we had been up at 7. We went to the closest taxi stand outside customs and paid about 800 baht for the ride. More than the amount on the internet but we weren't going to the city centre.
We get in the taxi and the driver says he doesn't know where the hotel is even after we show him the address so he stops off at a tour office to ask for directions. The lady comes to the car asking for us to come in and make sure she has the right place. I go in and she sits me down making small talk about how long we would be staying etc. She explains some places we could see and asked if we wanted to book a flight out or a train or a bus. Took me a couple minutes but I realised, She was not there to help us get to our hotel. Kinda pissed (we had paid to go to the hotel), I bluntly ask her if she know where our hotel is. She says yes and I leave to go back in the cab. I'll be missing Korea but there are many things that I won't be missing. I plan to go on a much needed vacation to South East Asia! Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, here I come.
While I am excited I am also very sad to see my friends stay here. I wish I could bring them with me. I will be going back to Vancouver then toronto but I don't plan to stay and it is scary. I am looking into Vietnam but I may hate it there so I don't know what is in my future. It has been a long time since I've gone blonde but it doesn't feel like that long. I think I got it done some time in November but I've been keeping it up since. Funny cause the students are starting to forget what I looked like with darker hair to the point where I show them an old picture and they ask me who it is... Kids. There are plans to add some pink to this blonde-ness. We will see how long I keep that up for!

AuthorHello! I am Erika, English teacher in Hanoi. I had started my journey as a teacher in Korea but will continue until the kids drain all the life force in me. This is a blog to keep my friends and family informed as to what I am up to. I expect all of you to visit me. |
